Colorado unit 2 elk hunting and trespass fee

This does not include the hunting license or landowner tag. Unit 2 is a draw only unit and it takes about 20 preference points (which translates into years) to draw even an archery tag. The muzzleloader hunt and rifle hunts take as many as 22 preference points. Landowner tags are very rare as there is only 1 archery bull elk tag, 1 muzzleloader bull tag and 4 non resident early rifle permits issued each hunting season. The item listed here is for hunters that are lucky enough to have drawn a tag or desire to purchase a landowner tag. This season the archery tag is listed at $9000.00 and there is only 1 available.

Archery hunters, muzzleloader hunters and rifle hunters can hunt private land in Colorado unit 2 for a trophy bull elk. Hunt the awesome Walker elk hunting ranch, of over 8000 acres and hundreds of acres of BLM on your on. The Walker ranch has several water holes and springs, they have done some habitat improvement for the mule deer and elk and these ranches are surrounded by thousands of acres of BLM to the south, north and east and much of our western border is a national monument area the Dinasaur National Monument. There is a large population of trophy elk on our ranch and a few whoopers hanging around that get little to no pressure from hunters as the hunting is strictly limited on the Walker ranch. A hunter that is able to walk to good vantage points can expect to see several elk each day and each hunters has a chance at a trophy bull elk of a lifetime.

When hunters pay the higher fee for cabin use they can also use the cabin during scouting trips on a reservation only basis. This will allow hunters to scout without having to worry about packing tents or camping supplies. This is a great asset to use for those with limited amounts of time to spend scouting.

Price includes assistance with detailed maps and a personalized tour of the ranch (if desired) to show premium locations and show ranch boundaries. This hunt can be fully guided for an additional $6500  and it will be 2 guides most days with only 1 hunter. We often utilize the second guide to scout other areas while the master guide and hunter are chasing elk else where on the property. Hunters can expect to see several bulls each day and bulls range from 330" to 400". A realisitc goal would be a 340" to a 365" trophy bull elk.

There is a trophy fee of $1000 for any bull scoring over 350 inches gross Boone and Crocket measured by the hunter and one of the staff.

This is one of the best hunts in the west low pressure and upclose action almost every day.
