The state of Georgia is a hunting and fishing enthusiast's paradise. Georgia hunting land comes in two forms; public and private. There is some excellent hunting and fishing on both. Georgia is known throughout the south for its deer hunting, hog hunting, turkey hunting and quail hunting. Georgia hunting seasons are liberal and allow hunters time to try and find that trophy animal they are looking for. The state is somewhat unique in that the majority of the population is concentrated in only a few areas leaving a substantial amount of habitat for the wild game. Georgia hunting takes place in a varied terrain ranging from hardwood creek and river bottoms to fields and meadows. The turkey and quial hunting in Georgia is outstanding due to this varied habitat that allows good nesting opportunities for the hens and hideouts from the predators.
