New Mexico Private Land Elk Hunting Ranch Unit 56
This private ranch is approximately 3000 acres Located near Lauglin Peak with a couple miles of the Van Bruggen Canyon flowing along our souther border. The CN Ranch is in unit 56 just east of Raton, NM and is home to a very large herd of Rocky Mountain Elk. The area commonly takes nice 6 x 6 bulls up to 350 but bulls in the 300" to 320" range are much more common. The ranch has cover for the elk, water and large grassy open areas for feeding and rut activity. The southwest corner is typically the hot spot during the rut and for later hunts our open areas to the northwest seem to hold more elk. Success rates vary from hunter to hunter but we average around 60% success. The New Mexico CN Ranch has been operated by new owner for just a few years and has not been real active as a hunting operation during construction of ranch house and other ranching requirements, but we have taken a small handfull of hunters including a young youth hunter who tagged his first elk.

Meals are NOT provided on this hunt but can be arranged for an additional fee. Maximum of 2 hunters on the ranch at time and only 4 bull hunters per year so definitely not a lot of hunting pressure on this property. To the north of this property is the famous TO Ranch & Hunting Lodge knows for great elk hunting and trophy bulls.
